My Grandma's First Car Story

I have written my dad's first car story about his 1965 ford custom, but what about my mom's family? Here is my my grandma's first car story: My dad's custom came off the line in 1965, but what about 18 years before? This is when my grandmother's 1947 chevy coupe came out of the factory. This was a very heavy duty car built like a tank. That is actually what they called it, "the tank" that was the car that my grandma grew up driving and being around. At the time when my grandma was learning to drive the car was as old as she was, but my great-grandfather kept it in great shape. The car was so heavy duty and built like a tank my great-grandmother would say as they were driving down the road, "I dare you to pull out in front of me!" thankfully nobody ever did. In the Las Vegas sun that was ever-present, baking the ground below, the back of "the tank" would get really dusty and dull. My grandma and her friends always washed, and waxed the back of the car. They even hung a giant orange flower on the radio antenna. I think my grandma might have wished she had a mini cooper, because being 5'1" she couldn't see over the windshield without a pillow. The one driving mistake that she made, was once she ran a stop sign right in front of a police man. He wasted no time issuing a citation, and taking my grandma's drivers' license. Nobody knows what happened to "the tank" but it sounds like it was a good first car.
I hope you enjoyed! -Rowan
