Mom's First Car

Mom's first car was a root beer brown 1984 Chevrolet c10 short box step side. It was this car that my grandpa converted from a three on the tree, to a four on the floor, and put a bigger engine into it. One Friday night, it got Mom into trouble. After a football game Mom and her friends were at Phil's pizza on main street of Middleville, each of them having a piece of pizza, then after everybody was done, Mom started the truck, and tried to shift it. There was one tiny problem. The shifter was jammed. Mom put both feet on the shifter, and with all of the strength she could muster, pushed on the shifter. Still it stayed hopelessly stuck. Everybody decided to have some more pizza, and then try at the shifter later, but after they all had more pizza, and Mom opened the door to the truck she found to her amazement, that the shifter was on the floor. There really was only one thing to do, which was call my grandpa. About 25 minutes later he arrived in his little dodge company car with his hair messed up because he had been in bed. He got in the car and poked around a bit, then he shoved a crowbar into the hole and drove the truck home, with Mom following in the company car. That night, he did not say another word, just climbed back into bed.

I hope you enjoyed my mom's first car story!
